A pelican, reduced to a form. Backlighting erases the details, leaving only a silhouette suspended between gold and blue, somewhere between the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. The bird appears heavy, almost awkward. Yet, in this economy of lines, it becomes graphic, almost elegant. An imperfect majesty, fully embraced.
