La Montagne

The white. Snow has covered everything, smoothing the violent roughness of the terrain. It is a cold, blinding desert, hostile to life. Nothing grows, nothing moves; sounds are muffled by the thickness of the layer. Crevasses are traps hidden beneath an apparent beauty. Here, the landscape does not cooperate it freezes into a provisional form until the thaw.
